Gardens, Gardens… Anywhere!
You don’t need acres of land to grow your own fresh and healthy food. Or maybe you have the space, but tending to a more traditional garden just isn’t possible. In this class, you will learn how to use container gardens to grow your own food anyplace, in any space.
Container gardening has become very popular, especially in urban settings, and for good reason. In this class, we will explore both indoor and outdoor container gardens, and examine techniques like hydro-gardening and using supplemental lighting to garden year-round. Finally, we will work together to plan your very own Chef’s Garden!
Gina Dionne has been growing fresh, organic food in an urban setting for over 20 years. Specializing in container and indoor gardens, Gina has grown everything from bountiful Chef Gardens on her back deck to fresh lettuce and juicy tomatoes in hydrogardens. A member of the Alaska Master Gardeners in Anchorage and Master Gardener Instructor at the Cooperative Extension Anchorage Outreach Center, she looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with you.
