Grafting Apple Trees - Beginner

Come learn the basics of grafting with orchardist, Steve Masterman. Learn which varieties of apples grow best in the Fairbanks area and which rootstock will be hardy in your location. Participants will graft four apple trees to take home. Please bring leather work gloves, a sharp knife with a straight, thin blade and a cutting board. All other materials will be supplied. This is a beginner class for those who have never grafted and includes a PowerPoint presentation on grafting techniques and hardy varieties.
 
There is free parking on the west side of the UAF Arctic Health Research Building. Enter the building through west-facing doors to find room 1W05.
