This course provides fire prevention and fire fighting training and skills development for anyone who works at a harbor or marina.
Almost certainly marina personnel will be first responders to a fire in their facility. Understanding the causes, how to fight a fire, and how to work with the local fire departments saves lives, property and environmental damage. This course covers the basics of fire, fire fighting, fire prevention, and the interface between harbor personnel and fire departments as well as policy and planning. Actual examples are used to teach. Because marina employees have local knowledge of their facilities, they are a critical asset in unified fire responses. This course prepares them to be that asset.
